September 29, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan lags behind its current potential in terms of exporting ICT products.
ABC.AZ informs that Minister of Digital Development & Transport Rashad Nabiyev stated about this at the INMerge Innovation Summit in Baku.
He noted that there is a big discrepancy between the quality of graduates of Azerbaijani universities in the field of ICT and the requirements of the market.
The minister explained the factors and reasons influencing this:
"We think that one of the factors influencing this relates to personnel related to this area. Every year, Azerbaijani universities graduate more than 2,000 IT specialists. In fact, this is more than the market demands. We actively invest in human capital at almost all levels. We are expanding our digital skills program in schools. We are promoting university programs in all higher education institutions, as well as improving the skills of the workforce in cooperation with many existing companies."
