September 25, Fineko/abc.az. In order to ensure safe and uninterrupted train traffic, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) has carried out repair work on the railway tracks of the Mingachevir section. The Mingachevir station building was also renovated, and the waiting room was renovated.
ABC.AZ informs with reference to ADY that with the launch of the Ganja-Mingachevir-Agstafa route, a noticeable increase in passenger traffic is expected. According to preliminary estimates, the route will be used by up to 100,000 passengers a year.
The launch of the Ganja-Mingachevir-Aghstafa route will ensure transport mobility for people traveling in these directions, as well as for residents of Mingachevir and Ganja, Tovuz and Aghstafa districts, as well as the villages of Goran, Dallar and Govlar, and provide residents of Mingachevir with comfortable, safe and profitable trips.
In general, the opening of the new route will support both the socio-economic growth of these regions and the balanced development of the capital and regions in accordance with Azerbaijan’s Socio-Economic Growth Strategy 2022-2026.
In addition, it will create conditions for further increasing the tourist potential of the city of Mingachevir.
One can get to Ganja, Tovuz and Aghstafa by Baku-Gazakh-Baku trains running daily in both directions, as well as additional daily flights via Baku-Aghstafa-Baku route.
