Azersky-2 satellite to resume operations in 2026

The Azersky-2 satellite is set to resume operations in 2026, Murad Jamalov, Head of Thematic Processing at the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Center of Azercosmos, said at the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference on Water Management in Baku – Baku Water Week.

According to ABC.AZ, he emphasized that Azerbaijan is the only country in the Caucasus with its own satellites.

“Two of these satellites—Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2—are telecommunications satellites. Azersky-2 will resume its activity in 2026. The next-generation Azersky-2 will provide significant support to our country in the development of Earth observation services, delivering higher-quality and more precise information,” Jamalov said.
