September 9, Fineko/abc.az. In Turkey, 8% of the value of yachts, motorboats, and recreational vessels will go to the state budget: the country’s authorities have introduced a special tax on the purchase of vessels.

According to ABC.AZ, the authorities are trying in this way to cover the budget deficit. The fee will also be charged when purchasing cruise and passenger ships.

It should be noted that previously there were no taxes on the purchase of vessels. The special consumer tax in Turkey is levied on the acquisition of luxury goods, cars, and smartphones. Earlier it became known that Turkey’s budget deficit this year may reach 3.1%.
