September 8, Fineko/abc.az. The number of drivers opting for manual transmission vehicles is steadily decreasing.
According to ABC.AZ, this trend is not limited to Azerbaijan but is being observed worldwide. In Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, 91% of cars sold in 2001 were equipped with manual transmissions, compared to just 29% last year.
The reduced interest in manual vehicles is also impacting their prices domestically. Drivers report that demand for such cars in Baku has fallen significantly, while in suburban areas they remain more popular due to lighter traffic conditions.
Automobile sales expert Eldaniz Jafarov noted that imports of manual transmission vehicles into Azerbaijan have sharply declined in recent years. He added that the price difference between automatic and manual vehicles varies depending on the car’s manufacturer and year of manufacture.
