September 5, Fineko/abc.az. The American artificial intelligence company OpenAI plans to launch its own AI chips in 2026.

According to ABC.AZ, Bloomberg reported this citing the Financial Times.

OpenAI will produce AI chips in partnership with semiconductor manufacturer Broadcom, sources said. The company plans to use the chips for its own needs, rather than providing them to external clients.

Broadcom CEO Hock Tan stated yesterday that the company had received a $10 billion order for the production of AI chips, without disclosing the customer’s name. According to FT sources, that customer is OpenAI.
