BYD revises its sales plan

September 4, Fineko/abc.az. The world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD, has revised its sales plan.

ABC.AZ reports, citing Reuters, that the Chinese company now expects to sell 4.6 million electric vehicles this year, which is 16% lower than its original plan announced in March. Sources told the agency that the sales plan has been reduced several times since then.

The adjustment comes amid growing competition from other manufacturers and a general decline in demand for electric vehicles. In the first eight months of 2025, BYD achieved only 52% of its initial sales target.

While BYD’s production and sales are expected to grow rapidly by 2024, sales are declining this year. Last week, BYD reported a 30% drop in quarterly profit — the first decline in more than three years.
