September 3, Fineko/abc.az. OpenAI, the developer of the ChatGPT chatbot, is acquiring Statsig, a startup specializing in tools for testing software features.

The deal will be fully paid in OpenAI shares. Based on OpenAI’s current valuation of $300 billion, the transaction amounts to about $1.1 billion.

Statsig’s CEO, Vijaye Raji, will be appointed Chief Technology Officer for Applications at OpenAI and will lead engineering development for ChatGPT and Codex, the company announced.

After the deal is completed, Statsig employees will join OpenAI’s staff, while the company will continue to operate independently, developing its own products and serving its client base.
