Retail trade turnover in Azerbaijan grew by 4%

August 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jul 2025, the retail chain sold goods for 35.1 billion manats to consumers, including food, beverages and tobacco products for 19.3 billion manats and non–food products for 15.8 billion manats, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee.
Compared with Jan-Jul 2024, retail trade turnover increased by 3.8% in real terms, including food, beverages and tobacco products by 1.4% and non–food products by 6.7%. 

In 7 months, 50.5% customer spending on goods in retail chains accounted for food, 4.4% for beverages and tobacco products, 12.7% for textiles, clothing and footwear, 6% for gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.7% for electrical goods and furniture, 2.5% for pharmaceutical products and medical devices, 1.2% for computers, telecommunications equipment and printing products, 18% for other non-food products. 

The value of goods sold by business entities operating in the non-governmental sector grew by 3.8% in real terms against Jan-Jul 2024 up to 99.8% of the total retail turnover.

Compared with Jan-Jul 2024, retail trade turnover in real terms increased by 7.9% for enterprises, by 1% for individual entrepreneurs, and by 4.3% for markets and fairs.
On average, one person spent 489.6 manats per month in a retail trade chain, including bought foods, beverages and tobacco products for 268.7 manats and non–food products for 220.9 manats.
