August 7, Fineko/abc.az. The tariffs announced by U.S. President Donald Trump have taken effect, according to the American media.
On July 31, Trump signed a decree imposing duties ranging from 15 to 41% on goods imported from more than 60 countries.
According to Bloomberg, the U.S. trade partners are divided into three groups. For most countries, the base tariff of 10%, effective from April, remains in effect. This tariff is applied in cases where the volume of U.S. exports exceeds the volume of imports from these countries.
Minimum duties of 15% will be applied to about 40 countries with small trade deficits.
Higher duties are intended for countries that have not signed an agreement with the U.S. or have significant trade advantages over them.
