July 23, Fineko/abc.az. Hershey will raise candy prices by double digits amid rising cocoa prices.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to CBS NEWS, that according to a Hershey representative, the price change will be “insignificant, expressed in double digits" and will affect the entire range of confectionery products of the company.
Founded in 1894, the Pennsylvania-based company owns more than 90 brands, including Hershey Kisses, KitKat, Reese's, and York.
Cocoa prices have increased dramatically in recent years due to the global cocoa shortage. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, which tracks food prices, the cost of this commodity was $8,402 in June, up 73% from five years ago.
