July 23, Fineko/abc.az. American startup XLight has attracted $40 million in investments to create a prototype laser of a new class that will help eliminate the shortage of microchips.

ABC.AZ informs that XLight laser will be used in EUV lithography and is based on particle accelerator technologies. It can significantly reduce the cost and improve the performance of microchips, which can return the U.S. to its leading position in the semiconductor industry.

The company cooperates with European ASML, the world's only manufacturer of EUV systems. XLight's goal is to make chips cheaper and more powerful by increasing the efficiency of semiconductor factories.
