Azerbaijan's income from cocoa sales abroad grew in 6 months

July 21, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of this year, Azerbaijan imported cocoa and cocoa products worth $73.815 million.

The figure is 13.4% more versus Jan-Jun 2024, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee.

Over Jan-Jun 2025, our country exported cocoa and cocoa products for $5.895 million (25.6% more than 1 year ago).

Imports of cocoa and its products made up 0.6% of Azerbaijan's overall imports, while exports - 0.05% of country's overall exports.

In the 1st half of the year, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with foreign countries for $24.4 billion (12.1% more against Jan-Jun 2024).

Of the foreign trade turnover, $12.878 billion accountd for export and $11.522 billion for import. Over Jan-Jun 2025, exports grew by 0.2% and imports by 29.9%.

In the end, the foreign trade surplus reached $1.356 billion (3-fold less than on an annual basis).
