17:08 - 17.07.2025

July 17, Fineko/abc.az. Wizz Air announces the suspension of all flights of its subsidiary Wizz Air Abu Dhabi from September 1, 2025, completing a five-year project to create a low-cost air hub in the Persian Gulf.

ABC.AZ informs that this news came after the airline, known for its affordable fares and offering more routes from the UAE, announced new direct flights from Abu Dhabi International Airport earlier this year, including to Bucharest (Romania), Beirut (Lebanon), Gabala (Azerbaijan) and Varna (Bulgaria). The carrier had no competitors on the route between the UAE and Varna

Etihad Airways will take over some of the routes, including to Tbilisi, Almaty, Medina, Baku, Bucharest, Tashkent and Yerevan.
