July 17, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jun 2025, Azerbaijan imported 51,727 vehicles for various purposes for totally $960.709 million.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the State Customs Committee, the figure is 22.2% and 23.3% more, respectively, against Jan-Jun 2024.

During the year, imports of motor vehicles designed to transport 10 or more people, including the driver, grew 2.4-fold up to 250 vehicles (worth $20.245 million), while imports of automobiles and other motor vehicles designed primarily to transport people by 24.2% up to 47,199 vehicles (for $865.347 million).

Of those vehicles, 23,001 ($472.963 million) are vehicles with hybrid engine combining internal combustion engine and an electric motor, while 929 cars ($31.625 million) are vehicles powered solely by an electric motor.

Imports of hybrid vehicles increased 2.6-fold, while imports of fully electric vehicles decreased by 38.3% compared to a year earlier.

In addition, imports of motor vehicles for cargo transportation grew by 0.2% up to 4,010 vehicles ($48.690 million), while imports of motor vehicles for special purposes by 21.3% up to 268 vehicles ($26.427 million).
