World's first interstate cable car to be opened in Russia

July 16, Fineko/abc.az. A cross-border cable car connecting Blagoveshchensk (Russia) and Heihe (China) will start operating in spring 2026. The route will be 976 m long and 70 m high.

ABC.AZ informs that passengers will be able to cover the distance between the cities in 2.5 minutes. Most of the route will pass over the Amur River.
The cable car will consist of two lines with two cabins capable of transporting up to 6,800 people per day in each direction. The cost of the project is around 16 billion rubles.
Russian and Chinese stations with terminals for comfortable border crossing will also be built.
