U.S. and EU threaten Iran with restoration of sanctions by end of August

12:03 - 16.07.2025

July 16, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S., France, Germany and the UK have decided to set the end of August as the deadline for reaching a nuclear agreement with Iran, otherwise the sanctions previously lifted from the Islamic Republic will be restored.

ABC.AZ reports that Axios writes about this, citing sources.

If an agreement is not reached by the deadline, the three European powers plan to launch an “instant refund” mechanism that will automatically restore all UN Security Council sanctions that were lifted under the 2015 Iran deal.
