Azerbaijan imported 485,600 tons of goods for Jan-Mar 2025

July 10, Fineko/abc.az. The remaining cargo in the ports decreased by 10% for Jan-Mar 2025 versus the 2024 same term to 178,000 tons.

ABC.AZ informs that the bulk of the remaining cargo – 163,800 tons – accounted for transit cargo, which means a drop of 3.1% against 2024. And the cargoes remaining in ports for export reached 14,200 tons, decline of 49.8%.

In total, our country imported 485,600 tons of goods for Jan-Mar 2025 (4.4% less than last year). Of them, 378,900 tons were transported by ships belonging to Azerbaijan, and decrease of 12.8% was observed in this sphere. At the same time, cargoes cargoes imported by foreign vessels increased by 45.6%, reaching 106,700 tons.

There has been a sharp increase in the shipment of export cargoes. If 52,500 tons of export cargo were transported in the first quarter of 2024, this year this figure grew up to 84,300 tons (a rise of 60.6%). The volume of cargo shipped by ships belonging to foreign countries increased more than fourfold — from 13,500 tons up to 55,300 tons. Instead, the volume of cargo exported by Azerbaijani-owned vessels fell by 29,000 tons (a drop of 25.6%).

In general, in the first 3 months of 2025, the number of ships serviced in ports reached 1,325 (22% more versus Jan-Mar 2024).
