July 2, Fineko/abc.az. Intel CEO Lip-BuTan is planning to abandon the promotion of a range of technologies for third-party customers, including the production of chips using the 18A process technology, due to lower demand.

ABC.AZ reports that the company can focus on the more promising technology "14A" technology to win back major customers such as Apple and Nvidia.

The transition will require large write-offs - up to billions of dollars. The final decision will be made by the Board of Directors in the fall. At the same time, the obligations to Amazon and Microsoft under "18A" will be fulfilled.

Earlier, Intel recorded a loss of $18.8 billion for 2024. The new CEO began a management reform and strengthening of the engineering team.
