July 2, Fineko/abc.az. "We have agreed with investors to create a multimodal cargo airport."

ABC.AZ reports that implementation of this project has already begun, and work is to finish in the 1st quarter of 2027.

Ismayil Manafov, deputy chairman of board of the authorized structure of the Alat Free Economic Zone, during the sixth ECO business forum held in the city of Shusha.

According to Manafov, airport's capacity will be 500,000 tons of cargo a year, with a subsequent increase up to 2 million tons a year.

"The main goal is to attract investors and develop exports. 10 companies have already been registered in the Alat FEZ. In 2025, two plants will be opened in the Alat FEZ," Manafov said.
