July 1, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. Space Force Command has awarded an $81.6 million contract to SpaceX to launch the SCF-178 mission in the first half of 2027 using a Falcon 9 rocket.

ABC.AZ informs that the mission involves the launch of meteorological satellite Weather System Follow-on-Microwave Space Vehicle 2 (WSF-M2) into orbit. The satellite was developed by BAE Systems. The satellite will operate in a synchronous solar orbit with altitude of 833 km and will monitor ocean winds.
