ChatGPT has led to job cuts in the UK

10:22 - 1.07.2025

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Since the launch of chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022, the number of new entry-level jobs in the labor market has decreased almost by a third.

ABC.AZ reports that The Guardian writes about this with reference to job search website Adzuna.

According to the newspaper, this is happening against the background of how more and more companies are announcing plans to use artificial intelligence to reduce staff.

As a result, the number of offers for interns, graduates, and junior professionals who do not require a degree dropped by 31.9%.

Adzuna notes that this trend is most pronounced in retail, where the number of vacancies for young professionals has dropped by 78% since November 2022. A significant decrease was also recorded in the IT sector - by 55%, as well as in the accounting and financial sectors – by 51%.
