June 30, Fineko/abc.az. Retail sales in Germany in May fell by 1.6% compared to the previous month.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the German Federal Statistical Agency (Destatis).

Analysts had forecast an average growth of 0.5%, according to Trading Economics.
According to the revised data, retail sales declined by 0.6% in April, rather than 1.1% as previously reported.
Sales of grocery retailers in Germany fell by 1.3% last month, while sales of non-food stores by 2.2%. Sales in the field of e-commerce and mail orders dropped by 1.4%.

Retail sales in Germany increased by 1.6% in May versus the same month of the previous year. Experts expected an average increase of 3.3%.
In April, sales grew by 2.9% year-on-year, rather than 2.3% as previously reported.
