June 3, Fineko/abc.az. Ukraine is looking for an opportunity to purchase gas worth €1 billion to avoid shortages, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.

He added that together with the Minister of Energy, the possibilities of how to supplement half of the missing volume are being considered. The country is currently negotiating with Norway.

The president noted that Ukraine is considering options to compensate for the shortage of gas if it is not possible to fully provide it to the population.

“We have deficit, I don't want to tell you how much now, it's enough for a large amount. We are worried about this because there have been massive attacks on gas storage facilities, as well as on the gas production infrastructure. And this has been the case since last autumn,” Zelensky said.

According to Zelensky, we have now managed to find some of the necessary volumes of gas.

“We found half of it, but we were missing half of it. I'll put it this way, for a billion euros. We are talking about the volume that I am talking about with the Norwegian PM,” Zelensky stressed.
