May 14, Fineko/abc.az. Apple is working over an interface that allows to control devices mentally. The company's partner is American startup Syncron, which developed neuroimplant Stentrode, ABC.AZ reports, referring to The Wall Street Journal.

Syncron implant is inserted through the jugular vein without opening the skull. The device captures motion-related neural signals and converts them into commands for the iPhone, Apple Vision Pro, and other gadgets. The technology is currently being tested on patients with movement disorders: one participant uses Apple Vision Pro to communicate and play games, just thinking about actions.

The development is aimed at people with disabilities, but in the future it may become part of Apple's mass products. The first versions will be compatible with third-party neuroimplants, later with company's own solutions.

Syncron emphasizes that their technology is less traumatic than competitors like Neuralink - the installation of an implant does not require trepanation. The device is currently undergoing clinical trials and is awaiting FDA approval.
