May 5, Fineko/abc.az. The international airport currently under construction within the Alat Free Economic Zone will also be used for passenger transportation.
ABC.AZ reports that Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the Authorized Body of the Free Economic Zone, said this at the international conference "Azerbaijan's Pharmaceutical Industry: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" held in Baku.
"The airport will cover an area of 750 hectares. Initially, it was intended solely for cargo transportation, but we have decided to revise the concept," he stated.
