Retail trade turnover in Azerbaijan has grown

April 11, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Mar 2025, goods for 14.6 billion manats were sold to consumers in the retail trade network of Azerbaijan, including foods, beverages and tobacco products for 8.1 billion manats and non-food products for 6.5 billion manats.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee, that retail trade turnover increased by 3.8% in real terms, including foods, beverages and tobacco products - by 1.7% and non-food products - by 6.3%.

For Jan-Mar 2025, 51% of consumer spending in the retail network accounted for the purchase of foods, 4.6% - beverages and tobacco products, 14.9% - textiles, clothing and footwear, 5.9% - gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.4% - electrical goods and furniture, 2.3% - pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, 1.3% - computers, telecommunication equipment and printed products, 15.6% - other non-food products.

The cost of goods sold by business entities of the non-governmental sector increased in real terms by 3.8% versus Jan-Mar 2024, making up 99.8% of the total retail trade turnover.

Compared with Jan-Mar 2024, retail trade turnover for Jan-Mar 2025 grew in real terms by 8.1% for enterprises, by 1.4% for individual entrepreneurs, and by 3.5% for markets and fairs.

Over Jan-Mar 2025, the retail chain accounted for an average of 475.3 manats per person per month, including 264.3 manats for food, beverages and tobacco products, and 211 manats for non-food products.
