April 7, Fineko/abc.az. The sale of TikTok assets in the U.S. has been suspended amid escalating trade tensions between the U.S. and China.
ABC.AZ informs that Beijing has made it clear that it will not approve the deal after Donald Trump's decision to tighten tariffs on Chinese imports.
The agreement stipulates that the American division of Tik Tok will remain in the U.S. and become a new company owned by American investors.
All conditions have been fully approved by each of the parties - investors, Bytedance and the U.S. government, according to Reuters. But Beijing has objected to the U.S.’ new duties on Chinese goods, and a deal is currently pending.
