March 6, Fineko/abc.az. Chinese company Alibaba Group Holding has introduced an open source artificial intelligence (AI)-based QwQ-32B model with the ability to reason, which, according to the developers, surpasses DeepSeek R1 in performance in a number of areas, using much fewer resources.

ABC.AZ informs that following this announcement, Alibaba shares rose 7.5% in Hong Kong trading, the largest intraday gain in almost two weeks.

Alibaba's new I-model has 32 billion parameters and surpasses DeepSeek R1 with 671 billion parameters in areas such as mathematical calculations, writing software code and solving general issues.
