March 5, Fineko/abc.az. The Georgian parliamentarians have raised the necessity to introduce control in social networks.
ABC.AZ reports that the idea was voiced by Sozar Subari, a former Radio Liberty journalist and Public Defender, and now one of the leaders of the People's Power, a political group affiliated with the ruling party.
According to Subari, it is necessary to start working on this issue "in order to protect human dignity and punish insults".
"Today, information disseminated on social media can have much greater impact on public opinion than television or radio... Social media today has the largest audience and the widest influence, and it would be very good if we started working on regulation in this area so that human dignity and privacy are protected. and insults were punishable," Subari said.
