Audi closes a factory in Brussels

March 4, Fineko/abc.az. Audi has closed the factory in Brussels, which had been operating since 1948, due to growing competition with Chinese car brands and declining sales of electric cars.

3,000 workers were employed at the Audi plant in Brussels. German carmaker Volkswagen, which includes the Audi brand, pointed to the "long-standing structural problems" of this production site, which has been expanding gradually over the years, but its operation entailed high logistical costs.

Recently, electric crossover Audi Q8 e-tron has been assembled at a factory in Brussels.
