February 20, Fineko/abc.az. Turkey denied access to the Rossiya airline aircraft due to a malfunction of the defendant. The problem aircraft has been suspended from flights so far.

ABC.AZ reports that Superjet 100 took off from Sochi to Istanbul on the morning of February 19 at about 10:00 a.m. There were 79 passengers, two pilots and three flight attendants on board.

After climbing, a message appeared in the cockpit about a malfunction of one of the navigation system kits (NAV FMS 2 FAULT). The commander decided to continue the flight to the destination.

However, when approaching Turkish airspace, local air traffic controllers informed the pilots about problems with the secondary identification of the aircraft: there was no mark on the radar indicating the altitude and the code of the responder. In this regard, the Turkish side has banned the Superjet 100 from crossing its air border.

The crew decided to return to Sochi. Ankara's controllers informed their Russian colleagues that the plane was returning due to adverse weather conditions in Istanbul and a malfunction of the responder.

The Superjet 100 landed safely in Sochi as normal. The aircraft was suspended for maintenance.

The passengers were sent to Istanbul on a backup aircraft, which arrived at its destination with a delay of 4.5 hours.
