Riyadh Air wants to order 50 aircrafts from Boeing and Airbus

February 3, Fineko/abc.az. Saudi airline Riyadh Air is in talks with Boeing Co. and Airbus SE to order up to 50 wide-body aircraft, aiming to expand its fleet and make Saudi Arabia an aviation and tourism hub, ABC.AZ informs, referring to Bloomberg.

The company is consideringmodels Airbus 350-1000 and Boeing 777X. Riyadh Air is keen to book slots for supplies, which are becoming increasingly scarce.

Riyadh Air has confirmed a request for proposals for new wide-body aircrafts. Boeing stated it regularly discusses fleet needs with potential customers, while Airbus declined to comment on a possible order, citing confidentiality of negotiations.

Riyadh Air has previously ordered 60 Airbus A321neo and 39 Boeing 787s. CEO Tony Douglas announced plans in January to place a new order in the 2nd quarter of this year.
