Growth of 10.5% recorded on China's outward direct investments last year

January 28, Fineko/abc.az. China's total non-financial outward direct investments (ODIs) increased by 10.5% up to $143.85 billion in 2024, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Ministry of Commerce.

The volume of investments in states, located along the Belt & Road, grew by 5.4% up to $33.69 billion. The number of workers sent abroad last year reached 409,000, a rise of 17.9%. As a result, 594,000 Chinese workers were employed abroad at the end of December. The contract works performed by Chinese companies abroad increased by 3.1% up to $165.97 billion.

By the end of 2023, China’s overall ODIs grew by 6%.
