January 8, Fineko/abc.az. The Turkish Chamber of Competition will hold a meeting on Wednesday to review the decision to sell the local distribution business of Stellantis NV to the Turkish company Tofaş Türk Otomobil Fabrikasi AŞ.
ABC.AZ reports, citing informed sources, that the organization initially rejected a 400 million euro ($420 million) deal last year on the grounds that the companies had not made sufficient regulatory commitments. The decision did not grant Tofa exclusive rights to import and distribute Stellantis brands in Turkey, including Peugeot, Citroën, Opel and DS Automobiles.
The regulator is preparing to reconsider its decision after negotiations between government officials and Tofa executives.
The Turkish competition group declined to comment on the matter.
