December 29, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijani pilots demonstrated high professionalism, courage and heroism.

ABC.AZ informs that AZAL vice president Ilham Amirov said about this at the farewell ceremony for pilots Igor Kshnyakin, Alexander Kalyaninov and flight attendant Hekuma Aliyeva, who died in the plane crash.

He added that this incident also shows that pilot training and aviation safety standards in Azerbaijan meet high standards.

"The testimony of the surviving crew members, passengers and the examination of the wreckage at the scene give us reason to believe that the aircraft was exposed to external influences. As a result, the aircraft was seriously damaged, and its main control systems failed," Amirov said.

He pointed out that in this situation, the crew sent a "Distress signal" to the ground, but the nearby airports of Grozny and Makhachkala, unfortunately, did not give a positive response.

"The perpetrators will be found and punished. After studying all the details of the incident, the public will be informed about the results," the vice president emphasized.
