December 28, Fineko/abc.az. Azimut Airlines has cancelled flights to Azerbaijan from Mineralnye Vody and Sochi airports, ABC.AZ informs, referring to company's press service.
It is specified that flights from Mineralnye Vody to Baku and Ganja, as well as from Sochi to Baku, were canceled because of the withdrawal of slots by Baku and Ganja airports in connection with the revocation of flight permits by the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan.
Earlier, several foreign airlines suspended flights to Russia amid an investigation into the disaster with the passenger Embraer 190 of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), which occurred near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25. Among them are AZAL itself (cancelled flights from Baku to 10 cities of the Russian Federation), as well as Kazakhstan's Qazaq Air (from Astana to Yekaterinburg), Israel's El Al (from Tel Aviv to Moscow), Arab Flydubai (from Dubai to Sochi and Minvody).
On December 25, an AZAL passenger plane operating a Baku-Grozny flight crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. There were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board. As a result of the accident, 38 people died, 29 survived.
