Russia passes a law banning enrollment of migrant children who do not speak Russian in schools

December 28, Fineko/abc.az. Putin signed a law that prohibits the enrollment of migrant children who do not speak Russian in schools.

ABC.AZ reports that now foreign citizens will be accepted to study in basic general education programs upon presentation of a document confirming the legality of their stay in the Russian Federation. To be admitted to the school, it is also necessary to successfully pass a Russian language proficiency test sufficient to master the educational programs of primary general, basic general and secondary general education.

The exam will be available for free in state or municipal educational institutions. Those who fail the test will not be allowed to master these educational programs.
