A road that absorbs more CO₂ than it produces opens first time in world

December 26, Fineko/abc.az. A new section on Jinan-Hefei highway (China) with length of 152.7 km annually absorbs more carbon dioxide than it produces.

ABC.AZ informs that the difference is 9,000 tons of CO2 per year, which makes the highway a unique example of an eco-friendly infrastructure. The project is to be extended to other high-speed highways of the country, the total length of which is 184,000 km and continues to grow by 9,000 a year due to the construction of new and modernization of former sections.
