December 24, Fineko/abc.az. Artificial intelligence data centers are accelerating electricity demand in the U.S. and Canada to the fastest pace in decades.

ABC.AZ reports that new generating capacity is not emerging quickly, raising concerns about supplies, stated North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC).

Peak demand is expected to grow by about 151 GW or 17% by 2034.

At that, NERC is making significant adjustments to its 10-year forecast. Last year, NERC estimated that demand would increase by less than 10% over the forecast period.
