December 23, Fineko/abc.az. The Italian Data Protection Authority (DPA) has fined OpenAI for 15 million euros for leaking user data, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the statement of the regulator.

DPA’s investigation revealed that OpenAI processed users' personal data for training AI-models in violation of the principles of transparency and related information obligations.

In March 2023, information was leaked, which the startup did not report.

OpenAI is required to launch a 6-month public awareness campaign on radio, television, newspapers and the Internet, promoting "public understanding and awareness of the functioning of ChatGPT". After completing the training campaign, users should understand how to counteract the training of generative AI using their data, according to Italian regulator’s reps.
