December 23, Fineko/abc.az. The Albanian authorities will block the Tik Tok platform in the country for at least a year.

ABC.AZ reports, with reference to the Albanian Daily News, that Albanian PM Edi Rama informed about this.

"In order to increase physical and digital security in schools, we’ve decided to block Tik Tok using tools developed by our

competent authorities," the PM said.

He explained that 90% of parents across the country demanded that Tik Tok be closed, "that's why we decided to ban it for a year," starting in 2025.

Tik Tok is a platform for watching short videos.

In April, U.S. President Joe Biden signed a package of laws that includes an initiative on a possible ban on Tik Tok in the country: the company that owns the ByteDance platform must sell it by January 19, 2025, otherwise its work may be blocked.
