Cargo and passenger carriages by sea has lowered in Azerbaijan

December 18, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of cargo transported by sea in Azerbaijan for Jan-Nov 2024 amounted to 7.9 million tons.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee that the figure is 4.6% less against Jan-Nov 2023.

Oil cargoes accounted for 48.6% of cargo. Seaports performed 12.9 million tons of loading and unloading operations, including 10,377 tons (or 80.3%) of transit cargoes.

As of December 1, 2024, the volume of cargo remaining in the ports reached 591,300 tons. The number of passengers carried by this type of transport increased by 19.3% against the 2023 same term up to 26,000 people.
