December 13, Fineko/abc.az. American online retailer Amazon, owned by one of the richest people in the world, Jeff Bezos, intends to donate $1 million to the inaugural fund of US president-elect Donald Trump, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

Earlier the same amount was sent to the Trump Fund by Mark Zuckerberg-led Meta.

WSJ notes that Jeff Bezos and other heads of technology companies are trying to establish relations with the new Republican administration.

The decision to allocate finances was made by Amazon a few days earlier, and it has already been reported to the Trump transition team. In addition, as paper's sources indicate, streaming platform Amazon Prime Video will broadcast Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2025, which can be considered another donation of $1 million.

Bezos is expected to meet with Trump next week at his Mar-a-Lago (Florida) residence.
