November 29, Fineko/abc.az. The German authorities intend to invest about €2 billion in development of country's semiconductor industry, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Bloomberg.
According to Bloomberg sources, the German Ministry of Economy plans to invest these funds in 10-15 projects in various fields, including production of semiconductor wafers and chip assembly. In turn, Ministry’s rep said in response to agency's request that the amount of investments would reach several billion euros, but refused to provide more specific information. The Ministry clarified that the funds will be provided to chip manufacturers to create "modern production facilities that will significantly exceed the current production level".
