IMF: Unemployment rate expected to rise in Armenia

November 25, Fineko/abc.az. In the coming years, Armenia will experience a slowdown in economic growth and an increase in the unemployment rate.

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to the forecast, Armenia's real GDP growth this year will be only 6% compared to 8.3% last year.

Experts say that GDP growth will slow down to 4.9% next year, and by 2029 it will be only 4.5%.

In addition to the slowdown in economic growth, Armenia is also facing an increase in unemployment. This year, the unemployment rate will be 13%, and by 2025 it will increase to 13.5%, the report says.

Last year, unemployment in Armenia was at the level of 12.6%.
