No tax to be paid for goods carried by rail from Azerbaijan

November 20, Fineko/abc.az. Transit goods from Azerbaijan transported by rail will be exempt from road tax.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the draft amendments to the Tax Code.

According to the document, when transporting goods from the territory of another state by trucks, trailers and semi-trailers of foreign countries through the nearest customs border checkpoint to the first railway station established by the relevant executive authority in Azerbaijan, they are exempt from paying road tax for a period of 2 years, starting from January 2025.

In addition, goods transported by rail are exempt from paying road tax when transported to another state with transshipment in trucks of foreign countries, trailed and semi-trailer vehicles at the final railway station, determined by the relevant executive authority, through the nearest customs border checkpoint.
