Need criterion to be increased next year

November 19, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from next year, the need criterion will be increased from 270 up to 285 manats. The definition of a new criterion of need is important in terms of increasing the monthly amount of targeted social assistance and expanding treatment, ABC.AZ reports, citing MP Vugar Bayramov on his social network account.

He noted that increasing the criterion of need in this context will lead to an increase next year in the amount of assistance received by our citizens under the targeted social assistance program. At that, more families will be able to apply for targeted social aid as the need criterion increases:

"To be clear: there are 5 members in the family, and the official monthly income of this family is 900 manats. This year, a need criterion of 1,350 manats (5 people x 270 manats) is calculated for this family, that is, expenses. At that, the difference between family expenses and income is 450 manats (1,350 manats - 900 manats). If this family is eligible for targeted social assistance, then within this program it can receive 450 manats per month from the state. But starting from next year, this figure will increase. Thus, the criterion of need for this family will increase from next year up to 1,425 manats (5 people x 285 manats), and as a result, the monthly assistance received by this family with constant income will amount not to 450 manats, but 525 manats (1,425 manats - 900 manats)."

On the other hand, from 2025 it would be more appropriate to abolish the criterion of need and use only the subsistence minimum, the MP added.

At this time, it is more appropriate to use the criterion of the subsistence minimum in the targeted social aid program.
