Russia introduces system of control over foreigners ‘Migrant ID’

November 15, Fineko/abc.az. In Russia, it was proposed to introduce a system of control over foreign citizens "Migrant ID".

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Izvestia that according to the document, it is proposed to amend the Federal Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation. The amendments envisage to prescribe that foreign citizens arriving in Russia for work will have to issue a single document — a "Migrant ID", an identity document with an electronic data carrier. It will have to contain information about entry and the period of stay in the country.

Migrant ID is issued by a foreign citizen before entering the territory of the Russian Federation upon his application in accordance with the procedure determined by the Government of the Russian Federation. A foreign citizen has access to a personal account in the Migrant ID to update information. The creation of a personal account and its functioning is carried out in accordance with the procedure determined by the government of the Russian Federation," the document says.
