Türkiye has doubled tariffs for ships carrying Russian oil passing through its straits

October 23, Fineko/abc.az. The costs of charterers for downtime in the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles for a 140,000-ton tanker jumped to $0.54 per barrel, doubling the $0.24 average for February-October of this year.

ABC.AZ reports that ship downtime in the Turkish Straits increases in winter due to seasonal deterioration of navigation conditions. According to agency estimates, currently the daily downtime of a Suezmax tanker or an Aframax tanker costs charterers an average of about $65,000.
